Zoning Department Zoning activities include the Creation, Amendment, Interpretation, and Enforcement of the Newbury Township Zoning Resolution. Zoning activities are funded from the Township General Fund, into which is deposited zoning permit fees, and hearing application fees. The current income from various fee sources is roughly equivalent to the salaries and expenses of the Zoning Department, making this activity self-supporting. The Newbury Township Zoning Resolution is created by the Township Zoning Commission. This board is also responsible for the periodic amendment of the Resolution to reflect changes in Ohio law and community preferences which can be reflected under that law. The Newbury Township Board of Zoning Appeals is the body charged with hearing requests for variance against the Zoning Resolution. Meetings are held when hearings are scheduled.
