Master Plan
*Chip Hess provided maps of park with proposed amenities
-No sewer or water included at this time until decision on pavilion/shelter
-Ball field has a high grassy area built around it for viewing.
-Two possible shelter locations: one south of drive and west of parking area, one east of parking area. Discussion favored pavilion closer to the road in newly seeded area by gas well. Would need some pull-off parking spaces along drive. Include volleyball and horseshoe pits near pavilion. Discussed what to spend on pavilion. Have estimates for pole barn style and timberframe construction but need cost on post and beam style. Chip to contact Susan for cost from Mullet.
-Jan stated Kiwanis would like to be involved in planning and paying for small playground. Jan to contact Ann Mesak of Ann’s Child Care to get catalogues of various playground options.
-Soccer fields need low fence to keep balls out of drive
-Enlarged parking area to fit 100 cars. Roger asked for OK on the proposed 100 car footprint so he can pursue possible rock donations and estimetes.
-Discussion on cost of ball field. Rough grading approx. $20,000; topsoil and seeding for outfield approx $10,000; infield fine grading $10,000. Need to get bid estimates so know actual cost and what $ left for other features.
-Estimates for landscaping can be acquired but recommend completing construction of ballfield and pavilion next year before any landscape work completed.
Next meeting: Thursday, December 10, 7:00 p.m. at Newbury Town Hall Moved up due to holiday.
