OBERLAND PARK
RFP’s:
Chip Hess went over proposal for RFP’s for ball field, pavilion and parking. Every project will be broken down into individual components so they will not exceed $25,000. Contractors can bid on one or all. All bids will go out at once so that we can budget each item and make the project fit the funds available.
Park Board authorized Chip to prepare bid packages to give to Joni at Development Office. She will collect and open bids. Park Board and trustees will meet to review and to award packages. A clause will be included which requires bidder to provide proof of knowledge and experience.
Roger will give Jan a list of people to invite to bid. Jan will meet with Joni on Tuesday 4/20 to go over timeline for RFP’s.
Gas Line:
A new gas company owns the line running through the field. Apparently the same people own with the same contact, just a different name change. May be able to bid trenching for line separately to reduce cost of moving line.
Entrance Rock:
The rock was partially engraved on April 3rd. Will complete when rock is fully dry. Judy took pictures of engraving. Other rock will need to be removed and dirt pile spread out. Large pile of topsoil available at back of parking lot for landscaping.
Trail clean-up:
Newbury Cub Scout pack 99 will do a service project on April 17 cleaning up garbage, scrap metal, and old tires from trail area, raking trail to define and line with branches in some area. Township maintenance will pick up materials collected. Manfredi property:Les stated that Manfredi property is up for sale. He proposed trustees look into acquiring back 2 ½ acres which abuts park property by continuing east-west property line between field and woods eastward. This wooded hillside above the swamp was saved from logging when the rest of the Manfredi property was logged. This will create buffer and reduce erosion in ravines. Jan will look into.
Rec Board looking at doing a 6K walk. May use trails as part of route.
Next regular meeting: Thursday, May 20, 7:00 p.m.
